Coronavirus Information (COVID-19)
Role and missions of municipalities in the context of the Coronavirus health crisis (COVID-19)
After the first cases of COVID-19 infections appeared in the Grand Duchy, SYVICOL immediately took the initiative to contact the Government, in order to clarify the missions and responsibilities of municipalities in this health crisis, as well as to inform about the measures that should, or not, be put in place on local level.
And while it is clear that the responsibility for managing the situation lies primarily with the national authorities, the attention is also on municipalities. And for good reason, they provide their citizens with a wide range of essential services on a daily basis.
SYVICOL intends to bring together the questions and concerns of the municipal authorities and submit them in bulk to the Government, who confirmed it is ready to meet with SYVICOL representatives in case of need and to provide the necessary explanations to local councils at regular intervals. Questions and answers will be published on the SYVICOL website, in order to provide as comprehensive a source of information as possible for local authorities.
If you have any specific questions from a communal point of view, SYVICOL asks you to email them to: info@syvicol.lu.
